Trevor Alan Alger of Colonial Beach, Virginia, earns Eagle Scout rank

Trevor Alger, a member of Troop 258 in Colonial Beach, has earned the highest award in Boy Scouting, the Eagle rank.

In order to attain the Eagle rank, Trevor had to demonstrate leadership in his troop as well as earn specific merit badges. For his Eagle service project, Trevor designed, developed and supervised the construction of a fenced-in playground for Colonial Beach Baptist Church, which sponsors the troop and the Cub Scout pack. For Washington & Lee High School Student Anthony James King of Montross, Virginia, earning the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America--that of Eagle Scout--is like a dream come true. He has risen to a level that only 2 to 3 percent of all Boy Scouts ever achieve.

He helped better the lives of those around him  and has proved that even in this day and age there are youth who willing strive to Do their Duty to God and their Country, and who really do believe in helping other people at all times. He is just one of a few in number who take pride in their communities and are prepared to help in their communities when asked. The youth of today are indeed our leaders of tomorrow.  [More]

Matthew Christopher Morrison of King George, Virginia, earns Eagle Scout rank.

King George resident Matthew C. Morrison has earned the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, that of Eagle Scout. Only two percent of all Boy Scouts attain this level. Matthew ’s Court of Honor ceremony was held on June 3, 2006 at the Colonial Beach Baptist Church. He is a member of the Colonial Beach Boy Scout Troop 258 of the Northern Neck District, Heart of Virginia Council. The Colonial Beach Baptist Church , of which Matthew is a member, sponsors both Boy Scout Troop 258 and Cub Scout Pack 258. [More]
