Three members of Troop 258, Colonial Beach, VA are also members of the Kings Dominion Scare Crew. Eagle Scout and Assistant Scoutmaster Trevor Alger, Committee Member and Venture Scout Karen Probst, and Life Scout Timothy Alger "Did Their Best" to bring the spirit of the Halloween to life for Kings Dominion customers. For Trevor this was his 3rd year working the park, for Karen and Timothy their first year. During the Halloween Haunt program put on by Kings Dominion this past October two of the Scouters earned Monster of the Night Awards for their enthusiastic, or should that be "enthusiaction" (as Sam & Betty Bridgeman, Long-time Scouters from Reedville,VA, would say) performances in the parks mazes. Trevor worked the "CLUB BLOOD" Venue and appeared as a mix of the "Dark Knight's Joker" and "Dr. Frank-N-Furter" from the "Rocky Horror Picture Show". I guess that's scary all by it self... Karen worked the "TOXIC PLAGUE" Maze... as one of the Sssssnake People... slithering up to one park guest after another, giggling softly as they passed by... In some cases... they broke the sound barrier in their passing. Timothy was transformed into a deranged, chainsaw carrying character, straight out of Texas who could change your idyllic Fall day into a Fall nighttime nightmare of fear and blood along the "Blue Ridge Blood Bath Highway". Upon completion of this annual event Trevor was selected as one of four Maze Monsters of the year. The three Scouters have plans of returning next year for a follow-up performance of this years antics. |

Meanwhile... back at the Campground... Pack 258 and the Troop 258 held their 7th annual Fearfest/Halloween Haunt campout at the Kings Dominion Campground, located only a mile from the Theme Park. The Pack was represented by 12 Cub Scouts, & 10 Cub Scout Adults and the Troop fielded 6 Boy Scouts and 5 Adult Leaders in the 2 night campout. Scouts and leaders enjoyed the park rides and activities during the day on Saturday the 18th of October. After a warm meal back at the campgrounds in the late afternoon the combined force of scouts and adults returned to Kings Dominion for the evening activities at the park... and as the sun set and the fog rolled in the park changed and became a totally different park... If interested in these types of fun campouts that we attend... give us a call... ask about joining either the Cub Scout Pack or the Boy Scout Troop. We'll be going back next year... will you be with us... call 804-224-2093 (Scoutmaster) or 804-224-2411 (Cubmaster) and see about joining NOW!
